For outstanding performance of his duties while serving as work center 91B
Supervisor, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department, U.S. Naval Air Station, Agana,
Guam from January to December 1994. Petty Officer Tudela performed his demanding
duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. His outstanding efforts resulted
in achieving a phenomenal 97 percent equipment availability rate and greatly contributed
to the 88 percent backlog reduction completed in just 120 days. This unprecedented
accomplishment was achieved while Support Equipment Division executed base closure
preparations. These achievements played a vital role in the transfer of over 1,000 items
of support equipment and the highly successful closure of U.S Naval Air Station, Agana. Petty
Officer Tudela's professionalism, initiative and loyal devotion to duty reflected great
credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States
Naval Service.
